LIHU’E — Hale ‘Oihana, a new business-services entity in the Lihu’e Plantation
Building here, is offering free resume services for all displaced Amfac Sugar
Kaua’i workers.
The announcement was made last week by Grant Welsh, owner
of the Lihu’e Plantation Building and a partner with Stephanie Reed in Hale
‘Oihana.
There is also a strong possibility that the company will be able
to offer temporary employment to some of those workers, through the firm’s
employment services section, Welsh said.
Oftentimes, such temporary work
leads to full-time opportunities with companies, Welsh said.
Hale ‘Oihana
is also looking into the needs of the West Kaua’i Technology & Visitor
Center and the U.S. Navy Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands,
because, between Reed and another of the business partners, they have a lot of
computer experience, Welsh continued.
The company was recently asked if it
could make identification badges and cards for temporary employees.
“If
we’re not doing it, we will,” Welsh said.
