Recently I spent 10 days on your beautiful island, but I was noticing and at
times sensing a congested, crowded, stressed feeling. Nothing like I feel, from
where I live which is 10 miles east of Boulder, Colo., but the feeling I
started sensing when Boulder and the whole front range from Pueblo to Fort
Collins began being developed by greedy, money-hungry, no-conscience
developers. The ruination of the front range of Colorado started around 1992.
Now 8 years later we have horrible pollution, terribly congested highways,
overcrowded schools and lots of stressed out people. This area has been
Californiazed.
In listening to your local radio stations and reading the
local newspaper and talking with some of the local residents and hearing that
people on your island are getting concerned about how your island is getting
developed. That’s great that people are getting concerned and hopefully more
and more people on Kaua’i will get concerned and INVOLVED so your beautiful,
gorgeous, dreamlike island doesn’t get overdeveloped and ruined by the soulless
developers.
If it was in my power I wouldn’t allow any more development on
Kaua’i so that the way the island is now stays as beautiful as it is.
