Department firefighters finished dousing the last hot spots from a brush fire
that broke out last Saturday just west of Puhi Industrial Park. The blaze
scorched an estimated 12 acres. To make sure it didn’t flare up again,
firefighters returned to the scene Sunday and Monday. The cause of the fire was
unknown, according to officals. Drought conditions continue to make Kaua’i
susceptible to brush fires. (Photo by Dennis Fujimoto)
