The impending arrival
here in November of the brilliant professional golfer for the Grand Slam of
Golf in Po’ipu has had the island abuzz for months. Now comes word that the
player who has stood much of the world-not just the links part of it-on its
head is about to start putting coffee in its cup, too. In a $1 million-plus
deal between Kaua’i Coffee and Japan’s Asahi Breweries, a cold coffee drink
called Wonda Hawaiian Ice will be marketed by Woods, “the hottest celebrity
endorser out there,” as one marketer put it.

associations with him are as sure a winner as he is.
