Football kicks off this weekend

LIHU`E – Gridiron fans hungry for the sound of the whistle announcing the start

of local football will be happy to know that the season kicks off this Friday

night at Hanapepe Stadium when the Waimea High School Menehunes, under the

direction of Head Coach Jon Kobayashi, host Punahou in a 7:35 p.m.

contest.

Action continues on Saturday afternoon when the Kapa`a High School

Warriors under the direction of their new coach Gordon Muramaru host

Lahainaluna in a 2 p.m. contest at Vidinha Stadium.

Head coach Keli`i

Morgado of the Kaua`i High School Red Raiders travel to the campus of Hawai`i

Prep for their initial pre-season encounter.

Kaua`i games will be broadcast

live on KUAI Radio (Am 720) by Joel Pahukula.
