Little League state tourney opens

HILO NATIONALS’ thirdbaseman Jessie Yamashita goes high to take the throw from

his catcher as Ewa’s Ramsey Sakamoto slides in safely on a passed ball early in

the opening game of the Little League State Tournament taking place at the New

Kapa`a Main Diamond. Hilo rallied late in the game, but left two runners

stranded to drop the 7-6 opener to Ewa Beach. Aiea topped Molokai 13-6 in the
