HANAPEPE—The Kekaha Angels took the West Kaua`i Youth Baseball League’s
Mustang Division by edging the Koloa Braves 10-7,7-6 in a double-header played
at the Hanapepe Stadium complex.
Kekaha ended the season by posting an
11-0-1 standing, and during the playoffs, were beaten once by the Braves, but
recovered to beat the Braves twice in the title playoff on Saturday.
The
Kekaha Angels’ coaching staff will be moving on with the All-Star team to the
PONY Regional Playoffs that will be held on Kaua`i from July 1 through July 5
at the Lihu`e County Park.
Members of the championship team include Bradley
Frasco, Kelley Batis, Layne Fernandez, Kevin Chiba, Kaimana Girod, Keonimana
Shigematsu, Justin Moriguchi, Max Agor, Jason Yanos, Kim Altvater, Dave
Hesapene, A.J. Remegio, Dillon Walters, and Kayla Shimatsu.
Chico Frasco is
the head coach with assistant coaches Howard Frasco, Royce Ijima, Andrew
Lazaro, Brandon Frasco, and Herbie Frasco.
Tanya Lazaro is the scorekeeper
and Mamo Shimatsu is the Team Mom.
