KYBA posts results of Girls 12U, Boys 10U basketball

KALAHEO—Kuhio Motors Dolphins’ Vania Singleterry exploded for 10 second-half

points to pace the Eastside team to a 7-4 performance over the Hanapepe

RefuG’s, but the effort fell short as Hanapepe wrapped up a 27-20 win behind 13

points from Chasen Sherman who ignited for 8 of the team’s 10 third period

points.

The showing was in the latest KYBA girls 12 & Under basketball

doubleheader that was played Monday night at the Kalaheo Neighborhood

Center.

Kaumakani Supersonics’ Joanna Jacinto was a factor on both ends of

the court as she paced the Supersonics’ 18-6 win over the scrappy Kaua`i Fire

A/C Raiders in the evening’s finale.

Jacinto ended the night with 9 of the

Kaumakani 18 points as well as numerous rebounds and turnovers. Cherisse

Rapozo tucked in 4 of the Kaua`i Fire scoring with Nalinee Pickop adding the

remaining pair.

John Berales had 8 points to pace the Kapa`a Boys &

Girls Club 10 & Under boys basketball to their 19-13 win over the Kaua`i

Magic in a doubleheader played at the Bernice Hundley Gym in Kapa`a.

Harlem

Medina had 5 points to lead the Magic.

Pono Perez picked up 11 points to

lead the Lihu`e And 1s to a 32-12 showing against the Kalaheo Lakers in the

finale with Jordan Sato and Giancarlo Belen topping the scoring with 4 points

each. Sam Schur and Harold Shimono contibuted a pair apiece.
