Oceanit is the environmental consultant for the County of Kaua’i on the Wailua
Golf Course Erosion Control Project. On the front page of the Friday, Jan. 28,
Garden Isle newspaper an article entitled “State says golf course assessment
incomplete” was published.
The article noted that “According to an Oceanit
report, erosion has occurred at the rate of a foot a year over the last 40
years…”
A member of the community has requested that the extent of the
erosion be clarified. The extent of the erosion is the project area that
Oceanit was contracted to study; namely, 3,500 feet of shoreline area from the
second green to the driving range.
Please clarify this omission if you
believe it is a material fact.
