Iwai is softball Player of Year

The Waimea Menehunes placed seven players on the Kaua’i Interscholastic

Federation softball All-Stars.

Catcher Erica Iwai, a power-hitter for the

Menehunes for four years, was picked as the Player of the Year.


Menehune All-Star selections were pitcher Albette Nawai, first baseman Erin

Castillo, shortstop Robyn Hoopii-Manuel, and outfielders Breanne Baptista,

Jennifer Fukino and Bridget Louis.

Two Kaua’i High Red Raiders were picked

as All-Stars — third baseman Rochelle Perreira and catcher Alisa Racelo.

Racelo was the utility pick.

Second baseman Tiana Laranio was the only

Kapa’a Warrior chosen as an All-Star.

Waimea’s Pat Baniaga was the KIF

Coach of the Year Choice.
