Waimea gets the jump in KIF tennis

WAIMEA — The Waimea Menehunes got off to a quick start in Kaua’i

Interscholastic Federation tennis.

The Waimea boys team rolled to a 5-0

victory over the Kapa’a Warriors, while the Menehune girls team squeaked out a

3-2 win over Kapa’a last Saturday in season-opening matches at the Waimea High

School courts.

Serina Roush scored one of Kapa’a High’s victory — a 6-3, 6-1 win

over Kathleen Sison. Kapa’a’s other victory came by forfeit in third
