Dennis Jacintho topped the A Overall class and Lance Corpuz, running the track in 2 hours 22 minutes, topped the B Overall class in Omao.
Corpuz, soared to the top of the field of 33 riders in the B class during the 59th annual Labor Day Dare 7 Hound Race, which was hosted by the Garden Island Motorcycle Club at the Omao motocross track.
Warren “Gator” Shope completed the course in 2.38 in the Senior division for second place, overall followed by Todd Rycewics getting through the course in 3.11 for third place.
Others in the Overall B class included Keith Hiltsley (3.17), Ryan Makey (3.25), Billy Carvalho (3.26), Jeff Guest (3.42), Aaron O’Dell (3.42), David McCleary (3.55), Vevald Bardett (4.02), Gilbert Nobrega (4.05), Sk Alaibilla (4.49), Lance Rosas (4.52), Roger Teodoro (4.55), David Dawson (5.57), and Jerry Soares (5.59).
Jacintho, riding in the Vet class, topped the A Overall on a 3.08 run followed by Travis Talbo, riding the Open class, in 3.12 and Kawika Stilwell, another Open class rider, in 3.15.
Vet riders Kealoa Estrella (3.26) and Robby Silva Jr. (3.29) rounded out the Top 5 in the field of 48 riders in the class.
“We had riders who just hung in there, determined to finish,” said Bertram Almeida, an event organizer. “While the top riders zoomed through the course in about three hours, we had riders out there more than seven hours after the start. But they finished!”
Peter Ricciardi (3.37) filled in the No. 6 spot in the A Overall class followed by Casey Satterfield (3.43), Eli Camara (3.57), Peter Bierly (4.01), Chance Daly (4.10), Ryan Lazear (4.15), and Ranen McKamey (4.20) rounding out the Top 12 in the A Overall.
Philip Wheelock topped the C Class followed by Joseph Hepa, Jay Marciel, Wally Rita, Philip Oveland, Jerome Cusilit, Kiawe Kanei, Elijah Kali, Sean Falvey, and Kawai Rapozo filling in the Top 10 spots.
Chandler Schimmelfennig topped the D Class followed by Keoki Rapozo, Myranda Chang, Brandon Rathbone, Reidon Rathbone, Shanelle Rita, Taylor Chang, Shalia Vierra, Kory Bunao, and Kupaa Kaiminaauao rounding out the Top 10 of that class.
Talbo topped the A-Open class on his 3.12 run followed by Kawika Stillwell (3.15), Casey Satterfield (3.43), Peter Bierly (4.01), Chance Daly (4.10), Ryan Ruit (4.53) and Acey Soares (5.32) filling out the leaderboard of that class.
Jacintho topped the A-Vet class on his 3.08 run followed by Kealoha Estrella (3.26), Robby Silva Jr. (3.29), Eli Camara (3.57), Ryan Lazear (4.15), Ranen McKamey (4.20) and Daniel Hurtado (4.57) rounding out the leaders of that class.
Ricciardi topped the A-Senior class on a 3.37 run followed by Jonathan Medeiros (4.59), Clyde Rodgers (5.44), Eric Nagao (6.48), Jason Hepa (6.30) and Barry Simmons (7.03) rounding out the leaders of the class which saw Tricia Young, Stan Riner and John Torres tossing a coin to break the tie when all three riders logged 7.30 finish times.
Corpuz topped the B-Open class on his 2.22 run followed by Todd Rycewicz (3.11), Keith Hiltsley (3.17), Aaron O’Dell (3.42), David McCleary (3.55), Roger Teodoro (4.55) and Steven Wernery (2.36) rounding out the leaderboard.
Cody Shibukawa topped the B-Junior class on a 2.3 run followed by Ryan Nakamura (2.32), Kolby Gamayo (3.12), and Teagan Amorin (3.41).
Shope topped the B-Vets class on his 2.38 run followed by Ryan Makey (3.25), Billy Carvalho (3.26), Jeff Guest (3.33), Vevald Bardett (4.02), Gilbert Nobrega (4.05) and Sky Alaibilla (4.49) rounding out the leaderboard.
In addition to the Hare & Hound event held Saturday, the Labor Day weekend rounded out with a motocross event Sunday at the Wailua track.
