Registration for the Garden Island Baseball Clinic Showcase for players ages 7 through high school is currently being accepted.
An early bird discount for registration before Dec. 15 is available, said Coach Kirk Correa, coordinator of the clinic that features a dozen former Kauai baseball players playing at the collegiate level.
Joining the baseball players, coaches from the Hawaii Pacific University and the University of Hawaii – Hilo will be on hand to lead the clinic as well as talk with participants.
“We will also have three traveling team coaches, including Vern Ramie and Guy Ishihara, at the clinic to scout our Kauai players for possible selection to their state’s traveling teams,” Correa said.
The clinic will be held Dec. 28 at Hanapepe Stadium.
Players aged 7 to 14 years old, will attend the morning session from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
High school players will attend the second session, which runs from 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
Entry fee is $15 per player until Dec. 15. Following that date, registration will be $20 per player. The entry fee includes an event T-shirt and lunch or dinner.
“A portion of the proceeds will be presented to the Multiple Sclerosis of Hawaii,” Correa said. “We would also appreciate the participants bringing one canned good which will be presented to our local food bank.”
Correa said the presentations to MS Hawaii and the food bank will be done during the clinic.
