Happy Girls Day, Kauai!
Rachel Curnan was proud to show off the circle barbless hooks she created at the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School eighth grade beach cleanup. Kudos to Joni Ortiz, the CKMS science teacher, for coordinating such a tremendous event.
Jim Jung said he could take a break because Monty Downs asked if he could come along, and even volunteered to do several of the presentations.
James Yamamoto said if Jean Souza wasn’t nursing her toe, she would have had a ball at the event, and Mike Kano said he’s wearing his Hawaiian Island Humpback Whale shirt when he takes his trip to Portland, Ore. (He might even run into Ted and Marilyn Zetterberg who were impressed with the set up.)
Josie Pablo said the staff at Mahelona Hospital were gearing up to take a bunch of residents to enjoy the Kodomo no hi program at Kukui Grove so they could get some Girls Day lunch, and Betty Ihara was having a ball with Arnold Hiura at the Kauai Museum where they were talking old-style kau kau.
