Teams and individuals are soliciting funds for the March for Babies on April 12 at Lydgate Park.
Team Bamboo Grill & Sushi is a new team participating this year and as a way to raise funds is hosting a Pancakes for Babies event from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday in Anchor Cove, said Leanne Yamaguchi of Team Bamboo.
“This is our first year doing this, and we’re excited,” Yamaguchi said. “Before the walk, people can come down and enjoy some original Barbara Oki pancakes with proceeds going to help the March for Babies.”
Taislee Simao, 4, and her parents Ben and Stephanie, are the Kauai Ambassador Family for the March for Babies. Taislee was born prematurely at only 27 weeks of pregnancy and spent more than two months in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit at the Kapiolani Medical Center on Oahu.
Families and infants like Taislee are the beneficiaries of the March of Dimes, which has been assisting families more than 43 years.
