Felipa Santos Castillo
Felipa Santos Castillo of Eleele, Kauai, passed away on June 2, 2014 at her home at the age of 94. Born on May 24, 1920 in the Philippines she was a Homemaker.
She is survived, Wilhelmina Castillo, Lillian Santos Caraang, Lani Santos Domingo, 4 Grandchildren and 3 Great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday June 26, 2014 at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. and again on Friday June 27, 2014 at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo from 9:00 am. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at the Hanapepe public cemetery.

Annie Wright
Annie Malie Kuamoo Wright, 94 of Waianae died in Waianae. She was born in Malama, Hawaii.
She is survived by son Alika Gaspar, daughters Jeanette Loomis and Donna Mae Gaspar, 35 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Daughter-in-law Laurinda Lei Cano, Francine (Randy) Oligo, Frank Cano III (Judy), Franchot Hawaiian (Pamai) Cano, Francisco Mauna (Pomai) Cano, Francella Napua (Lloyd) Rita, Francford Braddah (Jamie) Cano, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation: 8:30 a.m., Friday at Mililani Mortuary – Waipio, mauka chapel. Services: 9:30 a.m. Burial: 11 a.m. at Mililani Memorial Park.

Rose Pontes Koerte of Kalaheo, Kauai passed away on May 31, 2014 at her home in Kalaheo, Kauai at the age of 87. Born on February 4, 1927 in Kalaheo, Kauai. She was a Retired Housekeeping with the Sheraton Kauai Resort.

She is survived by her two daughters, Tammie (Gilbert) Medeiros, Andrea Kauamura, 5 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday June 28, 2014 at Lihue Luthern Church from 9:00 am. where services will celebrated at 10:00 am Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery.

Ronald Isaacson
Ronald Bruce Isaacson of Eleele passed away on May 25, 2014 at home at age 71. Born on April 14, 1943 in Dodge, Iowa, he was a Contractor.
Preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Betty Isaacson.
He is survived by his wife Shirleen Isaacson, daughters, Tanya (Blake) Hughes of Koloa and Kristen Isaacson of California, step-sons, Bernard Kamala Jr. of Kauai and Milton P. (Ursula) Kamala of Louiseville, Kentucky, brothers, Fred Isaacson and Dusty Isaacson of Iowa, and two grandchildren.
A Celebration of Ronald’s life will be held on June 14, 2014, 10:00 am, at Kauai Veterans Cemetery Pavilion.

Byran Rego
Byran Lopaka Rego of Lihue passed away in Wilcox Memorial Hospital May 24, 2014, at the age of 36. He was born in Lihue on May 17, 1978, and was employed as a merchandising clerk with Home Depot.
Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Nobu Rego Sr; maternal grandparents, Daniel and Roseline Rapozo.
He is survived by his wife, Shanda Rego; daughter, Nadja Saraos; parents, Robert and Priscilla Rego; brothers, Danny (Michele) Rego and Corey (Shantelle) Rego; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Salt Pond in Hanapepe with visitation from 9:30 a.m. and services celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Super Hero attire.

Juan Rabasa
Juan “Johnny” Rabasa of Lihue passed away in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 3, 2014, at the age of 78. He was born in Wailuku, Maui on July 13, 1935, a Veteran of the United States Army; he retired from the United States Postal Service as Postmaster of Kaumakani Post Office.
He is survived by his wife, Minako Rabasa; one daughter, Shirley Dennis of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sons, John (Anne) Rabasa of Santa Clara, California and Jimmy Rabasa of Lihue; five grandchildren, Rachelle Colston, Thalia (Keenan) Edwards, Michael (Lianne) Dennis, Savannah Rabasa, Donovan Rabasa; 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, Pete Rabasa of Wailuku, Maui; two sisters, Tina (Joe) Brun of Koloa, Pauline Ibia of Hanamaulu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.

Walter Chung
Walter Edward Chung died on May 30, 2014 at Wilcox Hospital at the age of 74. Born November 22, 1939, in Waimea, Kauai. Walter spent his early years proudly serving our country in Korea, Germany and Vietnam gaining him numerous badges and medals including the Bronze Star. Upon returning to Kauai he worked for and retired from the County of Kauai, Public Works at Hanalei Base Yard.
He is survived by his children, Kathryn Frances (William) Violette of Kapaa, Pamela Evalani (Scott) Bodlovick of Westbrook, Maine and son, Vance Akana (Kelly) Chung of Port Charlotte, Florida. Sisters, Winona Hussey and Kuulei Augustine of Oahu and, brother, Dexter Chung of Anahola. Grandchildren, Jacob and Ashley Bodlovick of Westbrook Maine, Courtney Violette of Windham Maine and Blake, Cassandra and Abigail Chung of Port Charlotte, Florida. Caretaker and mother of beloved nephew Payton, Maile Bryan of Kapaa, best friends, Ron and Audrey Venneman of Haena, and numerous step-siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Walter was predeceased by his parents Walter Chung and Adeline Wong, brother Milton Chung and two nephews, Payton Bryan-Chung and Shannon Hussey.
Services will be held, Sunday, June 15, at the Kauai Veterans Center from 11:00 – 3:00 with Military Honors starting promptly at 11:00 and services to begin at 11:15. Lunch and fellowship to follow. Family burial to follow at a later date.

Thomas Hashimoto
Thomas Kaina Hideo Hashimoto of Hanalei passed away on June 2, 2014 at Highline Medical Center at age 41. Born on March 13, 1973 in Lihue, Kauai, he was a flight attendant with OMNI Airlines.
He is survived by his parents, Wanda Hashimoto and Joseph Hashimoto, grandfather, Hideo Robert Watari and grandmother, Elaine Setsuko Watari, all of Hanalei. Also surviving are numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on June 21, 2014, from 9 to 11 am, at Wai’oli Hui’ia Church in Hanalei. Services will begin at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers are welcome.

Itsue Kawaguchi Kaui of Anahola, Kauai passed away in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 2, 2014, at the age of 85. She was born in Kealia, Kauai on February 7, 1929, and retired as a PBX Switchboard Operator at Coco Palms Hotel.
Preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Kaui Sr.; parents, Tsurumatsu Kawaguchi and Michiyo Hachikubo Horton; brothers, Katsuyasu “Larry” and Sueo Kawaguchi; sisters, Tokiko Ruth Medeiros, Tomiko Thelma Jay.
She is survived by daughters, Sheila Kaui Davis of Anahola, Cynthia (Bill) Rapozo of Wailua Homesteads, Carolyn (Everett) Ferreira of Maui, Corinne (Martin) Curnan of Lihue and Claire Kaui of Honolulu; sons, Wilfred (Cynthia) Kaui Jr. of Waimea, Kent (Margarite) Kaui of Kapaa, Wesley Bruce (Trinette) Kaui of Wailua Homesteads, Clyde (Darlene) Kaui of Hanamaulu, Steven (Tamlyn) Kaui of Wailua Homesteads and Keith (Liz) Kaui of San Diego, 29 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; brothers, George Kawaguchi of California, William Horton of Honolulu; sisters, Nobuko Victoria Spencer of Honolulu, Fujiko Louise Ebesu of Honolulu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services are being held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 with burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Esther Ratcliffe
Esther “Lyn” Ratcliffe of Lihue, known as the Angel Lady, passed away in Garden Isle Health Care on June 8, 2014, at the age of 94. She was born in Thompson, Illinois on November 7, 1919. She was a Lieutenant JG in the United States Navy and dedicated her life to her family, her Church and singing.
Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James Harold Ratcliffe.
She is survived by her son, Michael Ratcliffe and his wife Brigitte, her daughter, Christina Ratcliffe and her husband Noah Saltzman; five grandchildren, Yannick Doth, Mireille Doth, Cov Ratcliffe, Ethan Saltzman and Xavier Saltzman.
Private family services were held.

Seichi Kanekuni
Seichi Kanekuni of Kekaha passed away on May 9, 2014 at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 101. Born on January 7, 1913 in Mana, Kauai, he was a Truck Driver with Kekaha Sugar Co.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Harry Kanekuni and George Kanekuni, and sisters, Ruth Kondo, Florence Cummings, and Stella Shimatsu.
He is survived by his wife Elsie Kanekuni, son Daniel (Renee) Kanekuni of Honolulu, and daugthers, Margie (Blake) Higa of Honolulu and Ena (Myron) Emoto of Lihue; brothers, Kyoichi Kanekuni of Kekaha, Jack Kanekuni of Honolulu, and Rokuichi Kanekuni of Hawaii, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held on Thursday, 19th of June 2014 at West Kauai Waimea Hongwanji at 5:30 pm.

Dolores Marianela Fernandez
Dolores Marianela Fernandez of Lawai passed away on June 6, 2014 at Wilcox Hospital at the age of 63. She was born in Paia, Maui and was a Customer Service Representative for Pleasant Holidays.
She was preceded in death by her parents Nicasio and Alipia Pasion; brothers Amos and Rudy Pasion; sisters Gloria Inong and Rosalina Franco; father in law Cereal Fernandez.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Bernal Fernandez; daughter Chanelle (John) Quinones and son Beau (Michelle) Fernandez; sisters Mary (Richard) Cua of Kahului, Maui, Camilla (Julio) Carino of Waipahu, Oahu, Amparing Retialo of Ewa, Oahu, Florence (Fernando) Lomaoang of Ewa, Oahu; brothers Pablo Pasion of Paradise, California, Nicasio (Sandra) Pasion of Pahoa, Big Island, Rufino (Rowena) Pasion of Ewa Beach, Oahu; mother in law Catherine Fernandez of Koloa; brother in law Edward (Sheila) Fernandez of Mililani, Oahu; sisters in law Sherleen Fernandez of Koloa, Suzette (Greg) Kenney of Kekaha, Zaneeta (Bill) Quinn of Mililani, Oahu; grandchildren Shandee-Lyn Fernandez Sugimura, Caitlin Telles, Cairee Quinones, Jazmyn Fernandez, and Micah Fernandez. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Antonio Agustinez of Kaumakani passed away on June 6, 2014 at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 72. He was born on November 19, 1941 in the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife, Marietta Agustinez, sons, Edimor (Raquel) Agustinez of Hanapepe, Richard (Mary Rose) Agustinez of Hanapepe, and Melvin Agustinez of Kaumakani, daughter, Merlyn Agustinez of Philippines, sister, Francisca Pasion, four grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visist with the family on Saturday, June 14th 2014, from 8:30 to 9:30 am at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo, Mass to follow. Burial will be at Hanapepe Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested and flowers are welcome.
