Curt Fune has been named the Poipu Bay Golf Course’s semi-annial “Aloha Spirit Award” winner for the first half of 2014.
Fune, joining the Poipu Bay staff in 2005 and the head mechanic since 2008, was nominated for the award by his supervisor Dean Uyehara.
“Since being promoted to head mechanic six years ago, Curt has pursued and acquired a huge amount of information and practical experience in order to effectively maintain and repair our large inventory of machines,” Uyehara said. “He has all the right stuff you look for in a good employee — good attendance, conscientious, efficient, innovative, inventive, good attitude. But the thing which really puts Curt at the top of the list is that he is always, always working!”
Employee awards for Poipu Bay are based on nominations made by department supervisors in the areas of attendance, conscientiousness, attitude, efficiency, innovation, guest service and aloha spirit.
Semi-annual winners receive a variety of gifts and are eligible for the annual Employee of the Year Award.
