PUHI — Jasmine Semblante, 10, and Jessica Cezar, 11, of the Makani soccer program have been selected to participate in the President’s Cup on Oahu during the President’s Day weekend Feb. 14-16.
Jasmine will be making her third trip to the President’s Cup, participating with the Honolulu Bulls as her primary team, said Makani Coach Ramon Semblante.
This year, she will be joined by Cezar, who will be participating in the soccer tournament for the first time, also on the Honolulu Bulls. The girls will be playing in the under 12 age division.
Primarily a defensive player specializing as the team’s stopper, Cezar was part of the Makani team that participated in a Thanksgiving tournament on Oahu where the coaches from the Honolulu Bulls could see her and Jasmine in action.
That resulted in the invitation to the President’s Cup tournament, Semblante said.
