MANOA – The University of Hawaii Board of Regents voted Thursday to reduce resident tuition increases for the UH System for the next two years.
Resident tuition increases will be reduced from 7 percent to 5 or 4 percent — depending on campus — for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 academic years. All seven community colleges, including Kauai Community College, will see a 2 percent reduction, with upper division tuition increases reduced by 3 percent.
For the 2015-2016 academic year, KCC resident tution is $122 per credit.
“The Board of Regents has wrestled with balancing affordability with a high quality education,” said Board Chair Randy Moore in a release.
