Registration opened for the Westin Princeville Ocean Villas’ 7th Annual Charity Golf Tournament which will play July 12 at the Makai Golf Club in Princeville with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
Proceeds from the event will benefit charitable organizations on Kauai, including the annual Kauai Visitors Industry Charity Walk, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, associate scholarships, and other Kauai-based charitable organizations, said Westin Princeville spokesperson June Cappiello. Since the tournament started in 2009, the golf tournament has generated more than $55,000.
Recently, the Westin Princeville presented three $1,000 scholarships to two Kapaa High School graduating seniors, Ariel Cummings of Kilauea, and Hazel-Lyn Jarquio of Kapaa, and a University of Hawaii at Manoa student, Kekoa Dolor of Kapaa.
“Our annual Charity Golf Tournament is a delightful event which allows participants to give back to our island ohana while having a great time, and the opportunity to earn wonderful prizes,” said Denise Wardlow, general manager of the Westin Princeville.
Registration is $115 per golfer and will include golf cart, green fees, gift bag, and an awards luncheon at the “19th hole” at The Westin Princeville’s Main Lawn where live entertainment and prize giveaways will punctuate the post-game meal.
The Westin Princeville also welcomes sponsors for the event.
