LIHUE — To commemorate the life of their religious leader known as “The Bab,” Kauai’s Bahai Faith community will hold a celebration from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday at Lydgate Beach Park.
It will feature music, pupus and a re-enactment of the Bab’s martyrdom, which took place at noon on July 10, 1850.
At noon, the group will hold fellowship, prayers and dramatic readings to commemorate the prophet. People are welcome to join the reflections and refreshments at the small pavilion near the children’s playground.
“It’s always very moving when we have that and the friends do a wonderful job with beautiful quotes,” said Lucky Wells, who is heading the celebration.
