LIHUE — Zombies and a mad scientist have their eyes on the Kauai Veterans Center on Kapule Highway adjacent to the courthouse building.
As the sun sets on Oct. 17, the zombies, animated characters, and gremlins will start rising from the grounds of the veterans center from 4 to 9 p.m. They plan to convert the gathering place for veterans into a haunted hall complete with a live mad scientist and his laboratory.
Formerly frolicking at the mall, the zombies, who cavort to the sounds of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” will party the night away with a costume parade, animated characters, random prize drawings and more fun at the Halloween spooktacular.
“This is a one-day event to benefit the Aloha Dance Studio dancers,” said Tiffany Dodge, lead instructor and owner of Aloha Dance Studio. “Our company dancers raise funds to help with their annual competition and workshop on Oahu in May. This fun family event will launch their travel fund for this year.”
Admission is free but donations are accepted.
