LIHUE — The Verizon Foundation is offering $20,000 grants through its Verizon Innovative Learning Grant to improving student engagement and achievement in science, technology, engineering and math.
Monday is the deadline to submit applications from teachers and faculty members representing any public elementary, middle or high school in which 70 percent of students qualify for free or reduced lunch.
The Verizon Foundation gave away Verizon Innovative Learning grants to two schools on Maui: Kalama and Lokelani intermediate schools. Both campuses are now equipped with tablets and data plans to enhance their education through technology.
