Ernest ‘Ernie’ Joseph Dow
Ernest “Ernie” Joseph Dow of Kekaha passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on December 2, 2015 at the age of 81. He was born on September 23, 1934 and raised in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada and lived in Victoria, British Columbia where he was a printing pressman by trade before moving to Kauai, Hawai’i where he worked at Kauai Times and met his lovely wife.
Ernest was a beloved husband and companion of Pamela, his wife for 24 years. They owned and operated together the Waimea Canyon General Store for 19 years in Kekaha and enjoyed traveling and experiencing the world together.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Pamela (Kailikini); his three children, Jim (Eileen) Dow, David (Jeanne) Dow, Judy (Frank) Cano; and his precious three grandchildren, Jade Cano, Kalita Dow, and Brad Cano. He is also survived by his sister, Dorene (Sid) Ballik of Ajax Ontario; brother, Don (Christine) Laundrie of Denbith, Ontario of Canada; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. with services at 6 p.m.
The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcomed.
Ernest was a very kind and loving husband, father and friend to all. He never turned down an opportunity to help anyone in need.

Theodore Alfred Daligdig Jr.
Theodore Alfred Daligdig Jr. 90, passed away at his residence in Henderson, Nevada on November 14, 2015 after a progressive battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Ted passed peacefully into the arms of God with loved ones by his side to a place where pain and suffering are washed away.
Born to Mary Furtado Daligdig and Teodoro Daligdig on July 5, 1925, Ted is survived by his wife Marlene Daligdig, 24/7 companion and caregiver, 6 children Stella (Irving) Kaui, Theodore (Queenie) Daligdig III, Terry (Joyce) Daligdig, Beatrice Joann Yim, Herbert Daligdig, Charlene (Charles Lono) McGee, 30 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Ted is also survived by four step-children Gerald (Ambrea) Ito Jr., Chantell Kaaihue, Raenell (Shane) Shimbukuro, Darnell Ito, seven step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews that all loved their uncle Teddy. Ted was preceded in death by his first wife Beatrice Espin Daligdig.
Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at St. Catherine’s Church located at 5021 Kawaihai Rd. in Kapaa. Condolences commence at 9 a.m., Mass will be celebrated at 1 a.m. Ashes will be placed to rest at a later date.
June M. Boranian
June M. Boranian of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on September 29, 2015 at the age of 89. She was born on July 24, 1926 in Dayton, Ohio. She was a public relations specialist for Amfac and for the sugar industry in Honolulu.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Boranian.
She is survived by her daughters, Paula (Jan) Rudinoff, of Lihue, Eve Boranian, of California; her sons, Victor (Lolly) Boranian, of Arizona, Harry “Skip” Boranian Jr., Kapaa, Kauai as well as, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of June’s life will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at 4 p.m. at St. Michael and All Angels’ Episcopal Church, Lihue. In lieu of flower, donations may be made to Kauai Hospice 4457 Pahee St. Lihue, HI 96766 or St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 4364 Hardy St., Lihue, HI 96766.
Leandro ‘Boy’ V. Pasion Jr.
Leandro “Boy” V. Pasion Jr. of Hanamaulu, Kauai passed on November 17, 2015, at the age of 54.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leandro and Rose Pasion Sr.
He is survived by his sons, Shanon Pasion, Leandro (Pua) Ho’oikaika, Jake Pasion; daughters, Ashlee Pasion, Jasmine Pasion-Saflor and Jazzlyn Pasion-Saflor; sisters, Monica Jenkins, Linda R. Pasion, Marietess Cruz and Juliette Pasion; 9 grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Pasion family with arrangements.
Stanley Oana Jr.
Stanley “Uncle Smokey” Manaia Oana Jr., born on April 21, 1935 went home to be with the Lord, on November 5, 2015 at home.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Esperanza Oana; sister, Leina’ala (Stanley) Carvalho; and brother-in-law, John Ornellas.
Uncle Smokey is survived by his sons, Shane Oana of Honolulu, Sterling (Tammy) Oana of Las Vegas, and Styles (Rose) Oana of Honolulu; daughters, Stanette (Aaron) Takeuchi of Las Vegas and Sheldeen (Robert) Ronia of Hilo; step-children, Jackie (Davelyn) Balauro, and Alfred (Janice) Balauro of Kauai, and Denise Balauro of Kona; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Flora Ornellas of Anahola; brother, Rossiter (Vicki) Oana of Kauai; niece, Romy Oana of Las Vegas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with services at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd and the family was also assisted by Davis Funeral Home in Las Vegas.
Charles Kyung Yup Kim
Charles Kyung Yup Kim of Wailua Homesteads passed away in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on November 19, 2015, at the age of 93. He was born in Lihue on April 20, 1922 and retired as a Merchant Marine.
Preceded in death by his parents, Chang Soo Kim and Josephine Kane; siblings, George Kyung Hu Kim, Dinah Kahoowahakalani Kim Titus, Christian Chaney Kealohanalani Goo, Francis Sing Kahaole Hoomanaonui Goo, Josephine Minamina Sai Goo Kawakami, Joseph Kanakahela Goo,
Charles is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Noni Kim Salis; one brother, Hans Tu Goo; caregivers, The Brown Ohana; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015 at First Hawaiian Church in Kapaa with visitation from 9 a.m. and services celebrated at 10 a.m. Luau to follow.
