Kumu Lauae of Hula Aupuni Ni‘ihau Kahelelani Aloha is named Valentine Kanahele because she was born on Valentine’s Day. She wore red as she joined Kumu Kauai iki and the KANAKA Charter School students in honoring Kaumuali‘i at Pa‘ula‘ula, or commonly referred to as The Russian Fort.
Patrice Pendarvis was also wearing red Saturday night in honor of Valentine’s Day as she worked on her “Carmel” piece (it’s amazing how much she can accomplish in such a short time) outside the Palms Gallery during the Art Walk event at The Shops at Kukuiula.
Stevette Santiago was out with Helaine Perel for the event, but made it in time for the American Culinary Federation breakfast at the Kauai Community College where she met up with Wes Park and Russell Hata of Y. Hata to congratulate all (Joyce Vidinha and Sandi Kato-Klutke of the Hawaii Lodging and Tourism Association jumped the gun) the culinary arts scholarship students.
Kudos to Puni Patrick, Thomas Nizo, Aletha Kaohi, Carrie Newcomb and all those people (Mary and Binney Williamson as well as Michael Mohl stopped by after the Mana Time Trials) on a great launch for the Waimea Town Celebration.
OK, go congratulate Chucky Boy Chock on being this year’s Ambassador of Aloha!
