Questions about Planned Parenthood

As state director for Concerned Woman for America of Hawaii, I have contacted our governor and our state legislators, asking for an investigation into the Planned Parenthood clinics here in Hawaii to determine exactly what they are doing in the area of women’s health care.

Since other states have been doing the same thing, I felt it was time we followed suit here in Hawaii.

I believe now is the time to prove without any doubt if Planned Parenthood is doing all that they claim and whether or not they are doing the things they say they are not doing. I believe this is necessary in order to satisfy all Hawaii citizens that everything has been done to make sure that Planned Parenthood is following the right guidelines in their facilities in the best interest of the women who are their clients.

This has nothing to do with politics, it has everything to do with the rights of the unborn babies who are being aborted on a regular basis here in Hawaii and the rights of the women who are receiving Health Care from Planned Parenthood.

Report’s conclusion raises questions

I especially like Gabriela Taylor’s point in her (TGI, April 13) editorial that the truth shown by the JFF data examined so far is that there is insufficient evidence to conclude whether of not there has been harm to health or environment from pesticide spraying by seed companies on Kauai.

The truth of the report data is that no conclusion can be drawn from the data so far. So why is that not clearly stated in the report as the conclusion? It turns out that the no-harm-done conclusion is a lie. The we don’t know yet conclusion is the truth.

Pesticide spraying has the potential to affect every resident and visitor to Kauai as well as our land, air and water and all the many forms of life involved. So let’s be accurate about it and let’s err on the side of caution, noting that some countries have barred certain pesticide use altogether.

Arthritis Foundation needed on Kauai

As a resident of Kauai from many years, I was wondering why there is not a local support group or a foundation for arthritis?

I witnessed and admired some months ago how well organized the local foundations for colon cancer or Alzheimer’s disease seem to be. I am hoping we can reach the same level of support for people with arthritis and other kinds of inflammation.

I contacted the Hawaii Arthritis Foundation in Oahu and they told me there is no support group for our island. I will like to get together with others interested in starting a Kauai group. If you are interested and want to talk about starting a group, please write to: rainbowkaui303@gmail.com
