Gavino G. Ponting Jr.
Gavino G. Ponting Jr., of Hanapepe, passed away in Hanapepe on April 6, 2016, at the age of 62. Born on Oct. 16, 1953, in Pacdal, Baguio City, Philippines, he was a maintenance engineer with Poipu Sheraton.
He is survived by his wife, Nida M. Ponting; sons, Craig Aaron Ponting of Honolulu and Joshua Ponting of Hanapepe; brothers, Eduardo (Debbie) Ponting of Kekaha, Rafael Magazines of California, and Roberto (Christine) Magazines of Washington; sisters, Dolores Ponting of Philippines, Mercidita Ponting of Philippines, Adelaide Duclan of Philippines, Josefina Mangawit of Philippines, Corazon (Domingo) Sarmiento of Kekaha, Vida Galang of California, Marcelina Magazines of Georgia, Raquel Caracas of Philippines, Alma (Danilo) of Philippines and Necita (Eladio) Claveria of Philippines; along with numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church in Waimea. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. with Mass at 11 a.m. and a Celebration of Life to follow.
The family suggests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

Miguel Guerrero, Jr., 59, passed away on March 30, 2016, at his home in Koloa.
Born on May 11, 1956, in Manila, Philippines, he was a houseman with the Pointe at Poipu.
He is survived by his wife, Melca Birondo Guerrero; son, Aldrine (Heather) Guerrero; daughter, Kathrine (Wade) Francia; three brothers, Celestino (Melinda) Guerrero, Angelito (Magda) Guerrero, Leonardo (Marites) Guerrero; sister, Marites (Nick) Salvador; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services were held on April 7, 2016, at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. with a burial following at St. Raphael’s Church Cemetery.

Harriet Y. Kahihikolo, 78, of Honolulu, died on April 2, 2016, in Honolulu. She was born in Waimea Kauai, Hawaii. She was a retired tour escort.
She is survived by her son, Victor (Rona) Sasaki; daughter, Esther (Kent) Yamauchi; brother, Keith (Diane) Yamasaki; sister, Joan (Robert) Ouye; three grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.

Kenneth “Buddy” T. Perreira of Kalaheo, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on April 4, 2016, at the age of 88.
Born on Aug. 19, 1927, in Kalaheo, Kauai, he was employed with the County of Kauai.
He was preceded in death by parents, Isadore and Sophie Perreira; wife, Claire Perreira; and brother, Paul Perreira.
He is survived by daughter, Roxanne (Scotty) Vidinha; son, Kenneth “Teddy” (Lynn) Perreira; sisters, Ethel Vierra, Barbara (Lynwood) Boynton, Agnes “Aggie” Perreira; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Celebration of Life will be Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kalaheo, with visitation at 9 a.m., Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery.
