The Kilauea Art Night, held on the last Saturday of each month, celebrated its third year under the cool evening air whispering in the old stone building.
“We’ve grown to have more than 40 vendors doing crafts, food, and other items,” said Courtney Puig, event coordinator. “There are three entertainment stations, and even a fire dance when it gets dark.”
Puig said she works to have variety, alternating vendors and musicians so people have something new to look at when they stop in from 4 to 8 p.m.
Chef Judy Capertina of Haole Girl Croissants was looking for something to eat after setting up a wedding cake in Princeville.
“My stomach is so empty, and since I’m out here, I thought I would see what I could find,” Capertina said. “The taco hit the spot, and I don’t want to cook dinner so I’m getting some Hanalei Pasta lasagna for home.”
Capertina is talking with Puig about making an appearance in the next Art Night, or at the Princeville Art Night, which is held on the second Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Princeville Shopping Center starting in August.
