Charlotte Smith Kaui is a Kauai Museum Living Treasure (Lyah Kama-Drake said the tickets are almost gone so if you haven’t gotten yours, time to hustle). She was having a ball (even got to take a photo with Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr.) with Lillian Rapozo and Webster Tom (he now lives in Honolulu) during the Kapaa High School Class of 1949 reunion.
Mayor Bernard was on hand to welcome bicycle riders to the 2016 Paradise Ride Saturday (congratulations to Mistee Bailey- Myrick and her staff on another great event!), and even got to get a photo with Megan Ann Souza, the Miss Paradise Kauai.
Tommy Noyes (he’s doing another free 14-and-over bicycle handling and maintenance class Saturday!) had some rain-specific tips for the bikers, and Dr. Addison Bulosan was doing the two-day event for the first time.
Kudos to Jo Manea and her Heiva i Kauai staff on another great event (Anita and William Kaneakua were looking for Bev Pang at the silent auction) that took off despite the threat of rain. Of course, having Ray Carpenter on hand, what is a little rain?
