Anna Kahikilani Kaohelauli’i of Makaweli, Hawaii, passed away at the age of 63 on Oct. 2, 2016, in Waimea, Kaua’i, Hawai’i. Born on June 21, 1953, in Puuwai, Niihau, she was a clerk at Ke Kula Niihau ‘O Kekaha School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dana A. Kaohelauli’i Sr.; daughter, Joanna Kaohelauli’i; father, Donald H. Kanahele; and brother, Donald H. Kanahele.
Anna is survived by her sons, Dana (Tyra Kamau) Kaohelauli’i Jr. of Pakala, and Ronnie Kaohelauli’i of Honolulu; daughters, Kathy (Malia) Kaohelauli’i of Honolulu and Cheryl (John) Kahokuloa of Kekaha; nine grandchildren; mother, Annie K. Kanahele; brothers, Joseph (Maryann) Kanahele of Koloa, and Kelmer H. Kanahele of Hilo; sisters, Ida (Gordon) Ka’aumoana of Niihau, Diane (Bernard) Kanahele of Kekaha, Annie (George) Kanahele of Niihau, and Kay (Issac) Kanahele of Kekaha; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. with services to follow. Burial will be followed at the Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery.
Aloha attire is suggested and flowers are welcomed.

Steven Kaipo Rogers passed away on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, at the age of 44. He was born on Dec. 4, 1971, on Kauai. He was a general laborer.
He was predeceased by his father, Solomon Kanaauao Rogers; sister, DebbieAnn Puahauoli Kanei; paternal grandparents, Solomon Mona Rogers and Mabel Mele Poepoe Rogers; maternal grandparents, David Kakaila Jr, Annie Napua Boyd Kakalia and Deborah Kakalia.
He is survived by his mother, Lucille Mahealani Rogers; brothers, Solomon “Kawika” (Malia) Rogers and Saul “Kekoa” Rogers; daughter, Xie-Ann (Josh) Palakiko; grandson, Kahekili Palakiko; nephews, Sheldon, Kealii, Kahiau, Kawika Boy, Waika and Kawelo; and niece, Kalelei.
A celebration of “Kaips” life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, at noon at the Anahola Beach Park.
Scattering of his ashes will be private.
David Elliot Torres Jr.
David Elliot Torres Jr. of Kapaa passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Sept. 21, 2016, at the age of 38. He was born on Oahu on Jan. 26, 1978, and was employed in the parts department/mechanic for Two Wheels/Garden Island Motor Sports.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Torres Sr., maternal grandparents, Dado and Tina Tomacder; paternal grandparents, Elias and Hilda Torres.
David is survived by his mother, Sally Torres of Kapaa; sister, Shannon (Victor) Aquino of Texas; niece, Zyaesjah Torres Sueoka; nephews, Samson Aquino and Tyrion Aquino; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, beginning at 11 a.m. at Lydgate Park Beach side.

David G. Abreu Sr.
David G. Abreu Sr., of Lawai, Hawaii, passed away at the age of 93 on Sept. 26, 2016, at Wilcox Hospital. Born on April 1, 1923, in Lawai, Hawaii, he retired with McBryde Sugar as a laborer, truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Abreu; and daughter, Diane Perry.
David is survived by his son, David (Sharon) Abreu Jr. of Lawai; daughter, Edna Abreu of Lawai; grandchildren, Andrea (Koa Rita) Perry, Keith Perry, Shelly (Kaeo) Yuen, and Dave (Brandee) Abreu; great- grandchildren, Huntlee Rita, Elena Perry, Brayden Abreu, Taira Abreu, Brooke Yuen, and Sage Yuen; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. with Mass to follow at 10 a.m.

Dennis A. Evans
Dennis A. Evans passed away on Sept. 29, 2016, at Wilcox Hospital at the age of 81. Born on April 30, 1935, in Denver, Colorado, he was a consulting geotechnical engineer for DA Evans Inc.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Taylor and father, Vincent Evans.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Karen Evans; his beloved dog, Tiny; sons, Michael (Gretchen) Evans of Baltimore, Maryland, David (Barbara) Evans of Tampa, Florida, Kenneth Evans of Patton, California, and Ryan Nomura of Honolulu, Hawai’i; daughters, Patrice (David) Lewis of Villa Park, California, Julie Elm of San Clemente, California , and Lauren Nomura of Honolulu, Hawai’i; nine grandchildren; one sister, Denise (Joe) Visintine of St. Louis, Missouri; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services were held.

Charles T. Crane
Charles T. Crane, former Archdeacon of Episcopal Churches on Kauai and Rector of All Saint’s Episcopal Church in Kapaa from 1959 to 1966, passed away in Sedona, Arizona, on Dec. 7, 2015, at the age of 87. His inurnment ceremony will take place at All Saint’s Church on Oct. 19 at 10 a.m.
Born on April 11, 1928, in Honolulu, Charles graduated from Maui High School, then matriculated at the University of Iowa, where he met and married his wife of 55 years, Diane, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1951. Having taken ROTC in college, he was immediately called to active duty in the Army Corps of Engineers, and served in the Korean Conflict as a platoon leader earning a Bronze Star and Purple Heart, and received a disability retirement from the Army after losing his right leg in a land mine explosion.
After recovering from his wounds at Tripler Army Hospital, he returned to Maui and worked as a supervisor in the machine shop of the Hawaiian Commercial and Sugar Company. After two years on Maui, he was called to the priesthood, and entered the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, California. In 1957 he was ordained to the Episcopal Ministry. His active ministry covered 31 years, first serving as a Canon of St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Honolulu, then as Archdeacon of Kauai and Rector of All Saint’s Church Kapaa, and for 22 years as Rector of The Church of the Holy Nativity, Honolulu.
He retired in 1988, and travelled the continental United States in a 5th wheel RV with Diane, doing research and writing “The Clergy Search Dilemma,” published in 1991. He then settled in Mesa, Arizona, where he lived and traveled the world with Diane until her death in 2005. In 2006, he met and married Elaine Olson, and enjoyed 4 years of marriage until her death in 2010. In 2012, he married Marilyn Snyder, and moved to Sedona, Arizona, where he loved to look out his study window at the beautiful red mountains, and enjoyed playing his ukulele at events at the retirement community where he lived.
His heart was always in Hawaii, and on a return visit to Kauai in 2004, he decided that this was where he wished to be buried after his death.
He is survived by Marilyn, his wife of 3 years, three children: Jennifer Hugho of Ridgecrest, California, Andrew Crane of Salem, Oregon, Peter Crane of Buffalo, Missouri, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Hiroshi Nakazawa
Ronald “Ronnie” Hiroshi Nakazawa, 74, of Kilauea, Kauai, passed away on Sept. 17, 2016, at his home in Kilauea, Kauai.
Born on Dec. 2, 1941, he was an alarm installer.
He was preceded in death by parents Katsumi and Kimie Nakazawa, sister Yuriko Nakazawa, nephew Joseph (Joey) Nakazawa.
He is survived by his wife Jennifer Nakazawa; son, Ronald Nakazawa, Jr.; daughter, Kimie (Wendal Olanalan, Jr.) Nakazawa; granddaughters, Alyssa Nakazawa, Siani Olanolan and Starry Olanolan; three brothers, Edward (Nelia) Nakazawa John “Jackie” (Faith) Nakazawa, Harold (Pat) Nakazawa; three sisters, Betsey Tanaka, Grace Nakazawa, Nancy Nakazawa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friend may visit with the family on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church in Kilauea from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Then service to follow.

Stanywick Yadao
Stanywick “Uncle Stan” Nawahine Alejandro Yadao of Hanamaulu passed away at the age of 77 on Oct. 8, 2016, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born June 5, 1939, he was a retired Cultivation Supervisor with Kekaha Sugar Company. After 26 years at the sugar plantation, he went on to the State Department of Harbors Division and also worked at Mahelona Hospital in the Maintenance Department. He was an avid fisherman in his younger days and later became a well liked musician not only for his church but the local community as well.
Preceded in death by his parents, Leandro and Helen Yadao, daughter: Helena Oyamot, sister: Agnes Mahinai and brothers Stanley Yadao, William (Uncle Willy) Yadao, father-in-law: Robert Rego & sister-in-law: Caroline Rego.
Uncle Stan is survived by his wife: Marie Yadao of Hanamaulu; four daughters: Tammy (Teddy) Perreira; Stanette (Melvin) Kua; Kimberly (Errol) Lanning; and Lori Marugame (Abraham Kahalekomo); one son: Kevin Marugame; one son-in-law: Malcolm Oyamot; one brother-in-law: Larry (Barbara) Rego, mother-in-law: Frances Rego, three brothers: Daniel Doronio, Wesley (Karen) Yadao, and Rueben (Agnes) Doronio; eight sisters: Peke Doronio, Bernice Ragragola, Grace Hislop, Evelyn (Valeriano) Olores; Amore Camara, Nora (Cippy) Ragocos, Nicia (James) Mcgihon, Becky (Bill) Noon, 11 grandchildren,15 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
