KALAHEO — The Department of Water has scheduled an eight-hour water shutdown for Kalaheo residents in the Brydeswood Subdivision and on Kaumualii Highway between Papalina Road and Halewili Road.
The closure will take place from 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, weather permitting.
Water will be turned off to allow the DOW’s contractor, Kaiwa Construction Inc., to connect a newly installed eight-inch water main line along Kaumualii Highway.
Additionally, the Department of Transportation advises motorists of traffic delays along Kaumualii Highway and at the intersection of Kaumualii Highway and Halewili Road, in the vicinity of Mile Post 12.1, during the water shutdown. During this time, the lanes will be narrowed to 10 feet to accommodate shoulder work in this area.
