HANAMAULU — The Department of Public Works will hold a public information meeting regarding the first phase of the Safe Routes to School improvements planned for Hanamaulu.
The meeting is scheduled 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at King Kaumualii Elementary School.
The SRTS project is designed to improve safety, reduce traffic speeds, enhance access and support an environment that encourages walking and bicycling to school.
Funding was obtained through a Federal Highways Administration grant administered by the Hawaii Department of Transportation Safe Routes to School Program.
