After the U.S. presidential election, the Korean currency has been steadily weakening against the U.S. dollar. The Korean won, KRW exchange rate is over 1,200 won to one U.S. dollar. Many Korean economists expect the KRW to continue to slide against the U.S. dollar in 2017.
This is good news for South Korean exporters but also good for U.S. travelers planning to visit South Korea as the stronger dollar will bring cheaper travel packages. The best times to visit would in the spring or the fall season.
