Super Duper 2’s Ice Cream Eating Contest. Free. Sign up at 11:30 a.m. next to the big stage at the Old Waimea Mill Site. The contest begins at noon. Six age categories.

• Scotty’s Music Ukulele Contest
Sign up from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m at the Information Booth at the Old Waimea Mill site. Only ‘ukulele talent will be judged, not singing.
Age groups, prizes. A ‘ukulele will be awarded to the “Best ‘Ukulele Picker” in memory of Byron Hahn-Morin.

• Heritage of Aloha Hoolaulea at the Old Waimea Dairy site
A two-day ho’olaule’a of continuous live entertainment on a big stage, local food booths games and rides for the keiki, craft vendors and a beer garden that includes wine and Rum Punch and Pineapple Passion from Kauai’s own Koloa Rum. Admission is free.
• Paniolo Hat Lei Contest at West Kauai Visitor Center
Make a lei that a cowboy would be proud to wear on a cowboy hat and enter it in one of two categories: “Most Beautiful” (use only fresh materials) and “Most Unique” (any material is acceptable).
All lei will be available for viewing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. Awards will be given at 3:30.
• 3-on-3 basketball tournament at Waimea Canyon Park basketball courts
This is the largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament on the island and benefits the Westside Basketball Club.
All games are at the Waimea Canyon Park Basketball Courts on the corner of Huakai Road and Kaumualii Highway.

• Slow Pitch Softball Tournament at Waimea Athletic Field and H.P. Faye Park in Kekaha.
Teams from across the state compete in a double elimination tournament
Free admission.
Food concession at the Waimea Athletic Field will raise additional funds for the Antone Balocan Memorial Fund.
• Waimea Round Up Rodeo at The Friendship Do Ranch (Old Waimea Dairy)
Today’s and Sunday’s events begin at 9 a.m. Admission is $5 for adults; $3 for children (5-12 years).
Buy admission for today and get admission on Sunday for free. Food concession and crafts will be available.
