Local contractor selected for Sheraton Kauai Resort project
POIPU — A local contractor has been selected for the Sheraton Kauai Resort’s Ocean and Beach Wings refurbishment project.
Vistana Signature Experiences, owner of Sheraton Kauai Resort, announced that Shioi Construction, Inc. has been selected as the contractor.
The project — which includes replacement of soft goods such as carpeting, beds, furniture and most interior items — will be done in phases beginning June 2017.
“We understand that the success of our resorts is directly linked to the strength of the community,” said Steve Williams, chief operating officer of Vistana. “We are excited to continue our commitment to the local economy through our partnership with Kauai businesses.”
Resort operations are expected to proceed as usual, with minimal impact to the overall guest experience, Sheraton Kauai Resort officials said.
Shioi Construction is a Hawaii-based company with a Kauai team and more than six decades of contracting experience. Known for its collaborative approach, the company has built a variety of projects on the islands, ranging from hospitality to residential to recreation.
