Congratulations to Coach Derek Borrero and his crew on pulling off a great 27-17 win over the Kapaa Warriors before a large (Arthur Brun kept saying how a wonderful it was) audience that gathered to enjoy the final night football game of the year. Marissa Purcel kept trying to figure out how the cross country team (even Coach Fred Sasan had trash bags) was going to clean the stadium and still make it to the Waimea Invitational cross country meet early (!!!) Saturday morning.
Earlier, kudos to Jeffrey Pears and the Kauai Suicide Task Force (Lisa Carranza said the walk is on Nov. 18 at Kauai Community College starting at 3 p.m.) on a great showing at the sign-waving effort. Tito Villanueva said he just came off the plane from Oahu so joined Kauai Police Department Chief Darryl Perry (he was at the earlier presentation by the Retired Senior Volunteer Program for the National Day of Service and Remembrance) at the airport location, and Cody Bonilla (he represented American Medical Response at the RSVP event) was trying to figure out if he could make the game.
