Due to popular demand, sold-out shows, and a game cast and crew, Calvary Chapel Lihue added another showing of “Hope Station” at 7 p.m. Sunday. The final performance was set for 4 p.m. Sunday.
“Today our phone has been ringing all day with people wanting tickets,” wrote Pastor Bruce Baumgartner on Friday.
The musical drama opened Nov. 30, and was scheduled for five shows. As word of the two-hour play’s warmth and spirit spread, not to mention the desserts afterward, more people wanted to see it, so an extra one was added.
The setting is Christmas Eve at a train station in upstate New York during World War II. After getting trapped inside by an avalanche, the passengers discover that everyone has a story. It’s a story of doubt, faith and joy that slowly unfolds and comes to life in words, music and dance. It even includes its own Christmas miracle.
