Throughout the week, Kapa‘a High School celebrated its Homecoming with assemblies, activities and the big Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation football game against Kaua‘i High School at the Mayor Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex stadium that was filled with admirers and supporters of the Warriors’ homecoming court.
Homecoming Queen Te‘a Rosa and Homecoming King Mone Malafu, although sporting his uniform top was not on the active football roster, ruled over the festivities of the football halftime break that included a performance from the Warrior Marching Band.
Supporting the Homecoming royalty, Kawena Ventura was escorted by Koda Williams as Miss Warrior, Audrey Hedges was escorted by Ian Raquel as Miss Touchdown, Norma Tuulangavalu was escorted by John Dumaol as Miss Victory, and Anjoelina Miyashiro-Catbagan was escorted by Kaulia Shiroma as Miss Spirit.
Class representatives included Siernna Yamashita escorted by Mahana Alameda, who scored two of the three junior varsity scores in its 19-0 win over the Kaua‘i JV team, representing the freshmen class.
Kailee Baltazar, escorted by Exodus Labanon, represented the sophomore class. Rhea Furtado and her escort Cijay Baltazar represented the junior class, and Adeline Nikolas, escorted by Moku Tolenoa, represented the Class of 2023.
High school homecoming celebrations continue this week as Kaua‘i High School celebrates its festivities and activities that include a Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally Thursday at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e, and its football game Saturday when the JV team kicks off starting at noon, and the varsity game starting 30 minutes following the completion of the JV contest.
Kaua‘i High School football, seeking its first season win, will be hosting Waimea High School at Vidinha Stadium in Lihu‘e.
