Julius Henry Nordmeier Jr.
Julius Henry Nordmeier Jr. passed away on Aug. 28, 2022, in Waimea, at the age of 73. He was born on March 31, 1949, in Waimea, Kaua‘i. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a heavy equipment operator with Kekaha Sugar Co.
He was preceded in death by parents Julius and Beatrice Nordmeier.
He is survived by wife Carmen E. Nordmeier of Waimea, sons Julius H. Nordmeier III (Lori Parbo) of Waimea, Shandon Nordmeier (Leialoha San Agustin) of Kekaha, Kevin (Keala) Nordmeier of Waimea, brothers William “Billy” (Darlene) Nordmeier, Shane (Estrellita) Castillo, sisters JoAnn Hamamura, Sharon Freitas (Michael), Jennifer Freitas, Leticia Hood, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life service is Monday, Sept. 12, at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery Pavilion at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe, from 1 to 2 p.m. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers. The family also requests social distancing and face masks be worn.

Shimoe Nakano Mukai
Shimoe Nakano Mukai passed away on Sept. 5, 2022, in Lihu‘e, at Regency at Puakea at the age of 95. She was born on Dec. 2, 1926, in Lihu‘e. She was an administrative assistant.
She was preceded in death by husband Masanobu (Maxie) Mukai of Lihu‘e, brothers Tsutomu Nakano of Lihu‘e, Kunito Nakano of Anaheim, California, sisters Toshiye Hirata of Kapa‘a and Mitsuru Kurashige of Lihu‘e.
She is survived by daughter Julie M. (Gary) Dixon of Woodinville, Washington, sister Fusae Imada of Hawai‘i Kai, O‘ahu, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
