KOLOA — Maluhia Road, from the Kaumuali‘i Highway to Ala Kinoiki junctions, will be closed on Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The closure will allow the County of Kaua‘i Department of Public Works Roads Division to conduct a clean-up of the road that includes the Tree Tunnel.

During the road closure, traffic will be diverted to Koloa Road. Use of ‘Oma‘o Road as a detour route is discouraged. ‘Oma‘o Road is a narrow residential road that is not intended to be used as a detour route and is not designed for high volumes of traffic or truck traffic. The speed limit is 25 mph for the entire length.
