KDHO: 1 death, 19 new cases Feb. 24

LIHU‘E — The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office announced one new fatality and 19 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.

The fatality was a female resident in her 50s who was hospitalized.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of this individual,” Mayor Derek Kawakami said. “We offer our deepest sympathy to her loved ones during this difficult time.”

Kaua‘i has a total of 27 COVID fatalities to date.

The county currently has an active, recorded case count of 67, with five hospitalized.

To date, the county has recorded 11,795 cumulative cases.
