LIHU‘E – COVID-19 vaccine is now available for children ages 5-11 at Wilcox Medical Center and Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended the Pfizer vaccine for this age group today, Nov. 2, after it received emergency use authorization from the FDA on Oct. 29. The vaccine is now able to be administered to this age group effective immediately.

Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The vaccine is free; no insurance is needed.
Mayor Derek S. K. Kawakami encouraged Kaua‘i parents to get their kids vaccinated or to talk to their pediatricians if they have concerns.
Health officials emphasized that vaccination protects the child and reduces the likelihood they’ll transmit the virus to family members, friends, and others.
Do your research and ask questions of your doctors before giving your kids the vaccine. Specifically, ask the doctor if they would give their kid the vaccine. There are some cases of negative effects. Find out what they are and what other health conditions existed in those cases. I’m not against the vaccine. I’m for learning about everything before proceeding with any decision.
Are there no documented side effects? Shouldnt you be required to also publish this as it is pertinent information regarding making a decision to subject your child to this ???
The vaccine has now been studied for over 2 years with over 180 million data points. It is safe and effective. This cannot be more dangerous for your kid than crossing Kuhio Highway. I’m happy that this option exists for families– kids are already vaccinated against a whole bunch of nasty illnesses. I’m not sure exactly what the naysayers are waiting for…
Sense…check out the VAERS and VaxTracker websites. Do a little research on myocarditis in young healthy athletes…especially young men. The IFR (infection fatality rate) for kids is .00003%…virtually zero.
You are sadly out of touch with reality.
