LIHU‘E — A Walmart register campaign at the Lihu‘e Walmart is part of a nationwide effort by the chain to support the American Red Cross that supports the Kaua‘i branch headed by Padraic Gallagher.
The register campaign by Walmart, including all 10 stores in Hawai‘i, will match customer contributions dollar-for-dollar up to $5 million now through the close of business on Sept. 8.
This money is in addition to the $5 million commitment from Walmart, Sam’s Club and the Walmart Foundation that has already been made to support relief and recovery for Hurricane Ida.
The register campaign will let customers and members make easy donations when checking out at registers and self-checkout stations. All of the funds collected will go to the ARC to support communities impacted by hurricanes, floods, fires and natural disasters in 2021.
