Waimea lane closures scheduled today

WAIMEA — The county Department of Public Works announced that two roads in Waimea will see lane closures today to allow Maui Kupono Builders to conduct road-resurfacing work from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather-permitting.

Road work is scheduled along portions of Oioi and Maule roads in Waimea.

One lane of alternating traffic will be maintained.

The workers are state workers and not county. As in Derek Kawakami. The pay and jurisdiction is state and therefore funded differently.

The state has more money than the county. Just like the airports are federal funded. Coronavirus checks
