Hanalei Hill emergency lane to open Tuesday

On Monday, the road was found in good condition after HDOT’s crew cleaned the debris from last week’s landslide with a bulldozer.

Hawaii Department of Transportation’s Highway Division spokesperson pointed out that all of the original guard rails to the right was pushed down the hill, and will be replaced temporarily with concrete barriers for safety measures.

HANALEI — A single emergency lane of Kuhio Highway by Hanalei Hill is targeted to be open today for emergency responders only — not for the general public, according to the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation Highway Divison.
