Tiffany was volunteering with the Kokua No Ka ‘Ohana pop-up food distribution in Kapa‘a — the apples came from Earl Kashiwagi and Esaki’s Produce, where Kevin Taylan (he was the deliveryman on the pumpkins Wednesday at The Shops at Kukui‘ula) converted storage shelves for vintage papaya packing boxes into a nice pumpkin marketing stand.
Kelvin Moniz of the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank joined Judge Randal Valenciano and other Kaua‘i football referees from the Kaua‘i Officials Association (was Chris Acoba and Da Kaumakani Boys there?) in hosting a food distribution in Kaumakani at the same time the last of the free pumpkin giveaways was taking place at Puhi Park Produce Saturday.
Kudos to Tiffany Dick and the Aloha Dance Studio Freaky Friday dancers (zombies coming this Friday), who keep getting more and more dressed up as it gets closer to Halloween at Kukui Grove Center. Melissa McFerrin-Warrack said Halloween will be celebrated all week with costume-contest entries being accepted, special dining specials (Wilcox Medical Center nurses couldn’t wait for the Kalapaki Joe’s specials after being closed for the COVID-19. They beat the Friday-night rush — even Oki Diner is open beyond 3 p.m. — by ordering take-out and enjoying themselves at the food court), and more.
