Nice to see Gini Kapali shopping (first time for her at Puhi Park Produce) for those mixed salads, and Laurie Ho found some yellow sweet potatoes amidst the new set up of vendors (gotta do something about that sun that hits Ursa Swift of Midnight Bear Breads smack in the face), and Isobel Storch of Lanipo Farms (Isobel is still thrilled about granddaughter Florence Toyofuku breaking the board in tae kwan do to earn her yellow belt) is happy with her new “house” near Puhi Road.
Chef Turquoise “Toto” Santos got to sample Ferdinand Dosono’s grilled pork “tinono-style (no left-overs for Beau Acoba if he was working) that came from Ferdinand’s grandma’s recipe, and the fresh cucumber kim chee kept calling pretty loudly.
Ernie Domingo got to browse through Buddah’s Toy Box after lunch while coach Peter Rayno (he should’ve been a featured presenter) took part in the Mask Up Pop Swap celebrating the first day of fall break, and the crowd coming in surges following the Premier Martial Arts workouts.
Don’t forget, Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m., Jonell Kaohelauli‘i, Jason Fujinaka and the county Department of Water will be distributing the free water-education activity kits at Vidinha Stadium in Lihu‘e.
