Judie and Judge Bill Fernandez (she supplied those historic photos on the wall) also enjoyed the before-lunch lull with some mid-morning coffee and snacks with Ken Kubota (I guess we need to wait an entire year to see them make The Best of Kaua‘i) as Timmy Lopez (remember Lopez Trucking from the Waimea Lighted Christmas Parade?) treated himself to a stop on a job from the Westside, a pleasant stop on the run between Wilcox Medical Center and Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital.
Joyce and Francis Takahashi of Miki Macs got a spot closer to Merriman’s (Francis said you can’t catch anything because of the large area of open dining), and Laura and Dave Andersland of Salty Wahine had a chance to go shopping at the farmers’ market at The Shops at Kukui‘ula, where Don and Jan Woo came back with Barkaroo after a long break since COVID-19 started. Keanu Claussen was getting excited about carrots with the green stuff on. Papa said you can eat those, too.
OK, time to go check out that virtual telethon that starts at 10 a.m. Saturday benefiting the Center for Spiritual Living. It starts after the Football Officials of Kaua‘i and the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank partner to host a food distribution in the parking lot of Aloha Sweet Delite in Kaumakani (hope nothing calls louder than the half moons).
