Timotea Guillermo Obiano
Timotea Guillermo Obiano, 80, of Kapaa, passed away at Wilcox Medical Center, on Oct. 18, 2019. She was born in Flores, San Manuel, Pangasinan, Philippines, on Jan. 24, 1939, and retired as a cook with Kountry Kitchen.
She was preceded in death by siblings Dorotea Orpia, Benjamin Guillermo, Primitivo “Eniong” Guillermo, Rosa Frias, Merlita Guillermo and Juanita Ramirez.
She is survived by husband Benito Lomboy Obiano, children Jesus “Jessie” (Juanita) Obiano of Kapaa, Josephine (Benny) Baris of Lihue and Eduardino “Eddie” (Lourdes) Obiano of Kapaa, grandchildren Brandon O. Baris of Oahu, Bradford O. Baris of Oahu, Benedick O. Baris of Lihue, Archer (Edna Lyn Acosta) Obiano of Kapaa, Aldrich Obiano of Washington, Andrew Obiano of Oahu and Jonathan Obiano of Kapaa, great-grandchild Zion Obiano of Kapaa, brothers Alberto Guillermo of Kapaa and Petronilo Guillermo of the Philippines, sister-in-law Beatriz “Naty” Obiano Garcia of Kealia, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 30, at St. Catherine Church, with viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Catherine Cemetery in Kealia.

Ronald ‘Ghandi’ Uyesono
Ronald “Ghandi” Uyesono passed away on Nov. 9, 2019, in Lihue, at the age of 72. He was born on March 20, 1947 in Lihue.
He was in the wholesale food industry, most recently in inventory at Y. Hata.
He is preceded in death by parents Hideo and Ayako Uyesono.
He is survived by wife Francine Uyesono, sons Ian Uyesono of Lihue and Cory Uyesono of Las Vegas, daughters Wendy (Jason Luke) Uyesono of Wailua and Laci Uyesono of Lihue, grandchild Easton Uyesono Luke, sister Annette (Duane) Ting of Maui, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Lihue Hongwanji Mission, with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. and services at 11 a.m., with lunch to follow.
The family suggests casual attire.

Miriam Ella Kanahele
Miriam Ella Kanahele passed away on Nov. 11, 2019, at home in Kekaha, at the age of 59. She was born on Dec. 16, 1959.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by husband Tony K. Kanahele of Kekaha, sons Tyres K. (Jade) Kanahele of Kekaha and Silas K. Kanahele of Kekaha, daughter Trina K. Kanahele of Kekaha, six grandchildren, brother Melvin Kauwila Pahulehua Jr. of Kekaha, sister Gladys Lei Awapuhi Kahale of Kekaha, and by numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Kekaha, with visitation at 10 a.m. and services at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery.
The family suggests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Magdalina C. Honjo
Magdalina C. Honjo passed away on Nov. 11, 2019, in Lihue.
She was born on Aug. 20, 1934, in Hawi, Hawaii Island.
She was a cashier.
She was preceded in death by husband Walter Honjo, parents Placido and Alejandra Cabacungan, sisters Rosita Ujano, Rosalina Tabura and Leonora Vidinha, and brothers Lorito Pascual and Lodrigo Cabacungan.
She is survived by sons Roy Honjo of Honolulu, Randall Honjo of Kalaheo and Roger (Melanie) Honjo of Kalaheo, daughters Renette (Gary) Gaspar of Honolulu, Allison Pettersson of Honolulu and Beverylynn (Don) Keogh of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, grandchildren Ross Honjo, Jason Honjo, Lora Honjo, Kimberlee Honjo, Devon Honjo, Bryson Honjo, Keviclyn Honjo, Brandy Thomley, Kassandra Perez, Shaylise Nacarato, Crandall Gaspar, Corey Gaspar and Caitlin Gaspar, Daniel DeGracia and Georgialynn DeGracia, 11 great-grandchildren, brothers Abelardo Cabacungan of Carlsbad, California, sisters Mary Leong of Los Angeles and Violet Aceret of Hanapepe, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Richard Arthur Heinrich Jacobsen
Richard Arthur Heinrich Jacobsen, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, went to be with his beautiful wife on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, Wisconsin, at the age of 85. Born in Chicago on Sept. 25, 1934, he was the son of the late Arthur and Evelyn (Walsh) Jacobsen.
He honorably served our country in the Army 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean War. After returning from the war, he attended Michigan State University, where he excelled in football. He also enjoyed singing as a tenor for the German Society in Chicago.
On July 4, 1964, he shared a dance with Carole C. Hofer and they instantly fell in love. They married 27 days later on July 31, 1964. After 53 years, they never missed a dance together. Carole preceded him in death on June 1, 2017.
Carole and Richard started their life together in Chicago, where they had their family. As their children grew, they decided to live on the edge and move to Kauai, where they stayed for 32 years. They became restaurant owners and owned a mountain bike shop. He was an active member of the Kauai Rotary Club, where he focused on raising money for education and piloted multiple events that still run today.
He also enjoyed watching his alma mater, Michigan State, play football, and never missed a Cubs baseball game. One of his favorite moments was watching the Cubs win the World Series in 2016. He was the life of the party with his quick wit, and had a joke for everything. He and Carole dedicated much of their time supporting their grandchildren in sports and activities. They were their biggest fans.
He will be missed and remembered by daughter Christine Jacobsen-McGinty, son-in-law Michael McGinty, granddaughters Kristin McGinty-Minister, Molly McGinty and Madison McGinty, grandson Jake McGinty, along with his many friends. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his two sons, Tim and Rusty Jacobsen. Private funeral services will be held in the spring of 2020.
Erikue Ildefonso Caoagdan
Erikue Ildefonso Caoagdan passed away at the age of 90 on Nov. 18, 2019, at Kauai Care Center.
He was born on July 15, 1929 in Lahaina, Maui.
He was a boiler operator with Kekaha Sugar Company.
He was preceded in death by wife Celestina Caoagdan, father Felipe Caoagdan, mother Cepriana Ildefonso Caoagdan, brother Ignacio Caoagdan, daughter Gloria Caoagdan Bagayas and son Marino Caoagdan.
He is survived by sons Rumolu (Carmelita) Caoagdan of Kekaha, Conrad (Nora) Caoagdan of Honolulu, Rey (Edna) Caoagdan of Kekaha and Mandy (Cathy) Caoagdan, daughters Elena (Guido) Domingo of Kekaha, Amy (Ivol) Sexton of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Virgie (Robert) Palencia of Pakala, Jonalyn Lancaster of San Jose, California, 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Waimea Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, with visitation from 9 a.m. and services at 10 a.m.
