Proceeds from the annual sale pushed the Alzheimer’s Association’s $60,000 fundraising goal beyond its target.

The zombies from Aloha Dance Studio returned to Freaky Fridays at Kukui Grove Center with its flash mob dancing to help bolster the studio’s fundraising efforts for scholarships helping with the program’s Oahu and Las Vegas competitions.

The Tres Amigos — David Johnens, Ramon Martinez and Johnny Mitsis — had no problem filling their event card Saturday while they welcomed the day in the cool (it helped with the morning rains, too) outside the Lihue Neighborhood Center, where The Memory Keepers (the county Agency on Elderly Affairs’ team in the Alzheimer’s Walk benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association) were hosting their annual rummage sale with Donna Olivas Kaohi (she couldn’t join Jim Jung and Grace Delos Reyes at the Kukui Grove Center children’s story hour), Johnny Yago (he was out of his active living gear), Rose Manago and Patricia Gonsalves.
